Description

Long vowels" are vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) that are pronounced the same as the letter's name in English. This concept is used to teach children how to recognize long sounds in words, which helps them improve pronunciation and understand words more accurately. For example, in the word "cake," the letter "a" is pronounced as a long sound, matching the name of the letter, unlike the short sound in the word "cat."

Objectives of Long Vowel Activities:

Enhance children's understanding of the differences between long and short vowel sounds.

Improve children's pronunciation of vowel sounds.

Develop reading skills by learning how to pronounce words correctly.

How to Use the Activity: The activity presents a list of words containing long vowel sounds, which children read and repeat. Additional activities such as coloring or matching can be included to help children easily and interactively identify the sounds.
